A Community Capacity Building Approach to Addressing the Opioid Crisis in Rural Counties Across America

This project collectively builds on existing partnerships with local, regional, state and national agencies to address the opioid crisis in rural communities. The work uses a recovery capital framework, which actively promotes community protective factors and reduces the impact of risk factors. This project works to prevent opioid use and support sustained recovery by:

  • Engaging with communities and community partners
  • Enhancing opioid prevention efforts
  • Building effective and sustainable systems and supports to reduce overdoses
  • Expanding understanding and options for treatment
